Called Into The Kingdom

We continue one more year on the topic of The Kingdom of God. The theme "Called Into The Kingdom" is based on I Thessalonians 2:12, where the Apostle Paul encourages and urges his spiritual children in Thessalonica to “. . . live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory". (It is verse 11 in vernacular translations) We read in Acts 17 the details concerning Paul's brief visit in Thessalonica and the planting of the church there. He was forced out of the city after a very brief time there. His later attempts to return were thwarted. Although Paul and his team spent very little time there, we notice that the church established in that city.

Eagerly received the proclaimed Word and faithfully embraced it in the face of enormous persecution. They turned from their old way of life and committed themselves to serve the living God. The faith and faithfulness of this church rang out throughout the region.
